Teenage Mothers' Centre or TMC was founded in June 2008. It is located 21 Km on the Kampala-Masaka High way, in Wakiso District. The Centre is found just immediately after London College of St. Lawrence.

MISSION

To bring Reproductive Health Information and Education to teenagers and help young teenage mothers realize their full potentials through protection and promotion of their rights, provision of life and vocational skills, education and early childhood development and nutrition training.

VISION

Teenage Ugandans free from the consequences of premarital and unhealthy sexual encounters.

GOAL

To contribute to the reduction in number of teenagers that become parents in Uganda.

OBJECTIVES

  • To disseminate Reproductive Health Information
  • To protect and promote the human rights of teenage mothers and their babies
  • To involve parents in the struggle by advocating for parent – children dialogue
  • To advocate for all measures that reduce teenage pregnancy
  • To provide shelter and home care to rejected pregnant teenage girls
  • To offer counseling and encourage reconciliation
  • To offer life and vocational skills for self reliance
  • To offer training on nutrition and child care as a measure of preparing teenage mothers to encounter the enormous responsibility that accompanies child bearing and reduce child mortality.
  • To collaborate with other bodies / agencies that promote children and health issues.
